Tiffany Wylder Free Guide

I'm an Adult, I Whisper to Myself

What to do when your family turns you back into someone you thought you'd outgrown.

You drive over with a plan. You're going to be relaxed this time. Warm, even. Then someone asks the question they always ask, in the voice they always use, and you feel your jaw set before you've decided anything.

That's a pattern doing what it learned to do a long time ago, faster than you can think your way past it. This guide is built around that day: what helps before you arrive, what to do in the moment it fires, and how to come back to yourself afterwards, on the drive home. Lines you can actually say out loud, and ways to find a little more room before you say them.

About

Who's writing this

I'm Tiffany. I work with what happens in the body before anyone's decided what to say.

That's the part most of us never got taught. You can know exactly what a pattern is called and still watch yourself do it, again, at your mother's kitchen table. I spent years in the attachment literature and the nervous system research, and what kept bothering me was how little of it survives contact with an actual difficult conversation. Naming a pattern is not the same as catching it in the moment it's happening.

So that's what I work on. The catching. Noticing which relational move you're most likely to reach for, understanding what it's protecting, and building enough choice that you're not stuck repeating it just because it once worked.

Sydney. Solo parent, which is its own advanced course in staying steady while a small person checks whether you will.

Mentoring

Working together

Private mentoring, one to one.

You don't need to have read anything or worked out what your pattern is called first. Some people arrive already able to name it. Some arrive only knowing that the same thing keeps happening and they're tired of it. Both are a fine place to start.

What you do need is a willingness to look at what your body is doing, not just what you're thinking. That's the part that actually changes things, and it's slower and less tidy than insight on its own. We look at the pattern as it shows up now, understand what it's hooked into, and build more room for you to respond differently, until a different response is actually available to you when it counts.

I work with a few people at a time. Tell me what's going on and we'll see if it's a fit.
